THE Second Phase of the Voter Biometric Registration (BVR) process will begin on Sunday 5 November.
This was stated by Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) in a notice issued recently.
The second phase of the registration process is the publication of the Provisional Voter List.
“Data compilation process will continue until 31st of this month and then a Provisional List will be produced and printed.”
“The second phase of the voter registration process will begin on the 5th of November and continue onto the 1st of December 2023,” the notice stated.
Meanwhile, SIEC said it has discovered double and multiple registration.
“At this stage, double and multiple registrations are detected. Detected double or multiple registrations are closely scrutinised to make sure that a registered voter has only one name in the biometric system.”
“The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission then deleted the registered voters whom the system found to have double and multiple registrations,” it added.
SIEC encouraged registrants to look out for the published Provisional Voter List to be put up at the BVR centres in the constituencies.
“If you have registered for the first time, updated your voter details or transferred your voter registration, it is important that you look out for the Provisional List to be put up to check for your name.”
“The Provisional Voter List will be published in the publication of the Provisional Voter List at BVR Centres in the constituencies,” SIEC said.
