SOLOMON Islands national futsal team, Kurukuru maintained their undefeated run, securing their second win in the Melanesian Futsal Cup tournament in Fiji.
Kurukuru defeated Vanuatu national futsal team 5-4 in a close encounter at the Vodafone Arena in Suva yesterday.
Similar to their opening match of the tournament, Kurukuru once again came from behind to register another win.
Vanuatu’s Sandy Mesau gave his side the lead six minuted from kick off.
Coleman Makau replied with the equalizer two minutes later followed by the second by Calvin Do’oro.
Mesau levelled the score 2-2 for Vanuatu in the 19th minute but was short-lived as Captain Elliot Ragomo regain the lead for Kurukuru to make it 3-2 at the break.
Vanuatu returned in the second half scoring two quick goals by Bill Tamuri in the 32nd minute and Mesau in the 33rd minute for his hat trick.
Calvin Do’oro scored his brace to make it 4-4 a minute later before Charlie Otainao slot home the winning goal in the dying seconds.
Kurukuru will take on Fiji for their final match.
