THE Solomon Islands Football Federation President William Lai and his Executive have commended the service of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Melanesian Security Services for providing security at the Solomon Cup tournament in Honiara.
A statement from the Solomon Cup Local Organizing Committee (LOC) says they would like to thank both RSIPF and Melanesian Security Services for providing security which makes it a good environment for every spectator.
“We would like to acknowledge and thank our Royal Solomon Islands Police Force and Melanesian Security Services for their hard work in making sure Solomon Cup tournament at Lawson is safe for spectators, match officials and players.
The statement further stressed, the safe environment at Lawson Tama has allowed players to play to their best.
“It created a good atmosphere where all spectators share their enjoyment of their teams’ victories and expressed tense moments of the game with some emotions.
“May we all enjoy to watch the upcoming matches and to cheer for all participating teams,’’ the statement added.
Meanwhile, the LOC says they are looking forward for the same support from Police force to provide security during final semifinal today and during third and fourth place playoff on Friday July 14th and the grand final on Saturday 15th.
