Most former Guadalcanal Members of Parliament have retained their seats in election results announced last night.
Peter Shanel Agovaka secured his Central Guadalcanal seat, Dr Derek Sikua his North East Guadalcanal Constituency, while Bradley Tovosia retained his East Guadalcanal constituency.
Shanel polled 2,083 votes. His runner up, Walter Naezon, polled 1,446 votes followed by Ribson Nunua Tinbaku with 697 votes.
Patrick Kennedy 270 votes, Noelyne Biliki 114 votes, Kekegolo Elvis Zhivago 91 votes, Matilda Tosa Elta 78, George Solomon Sovegibo 52 and Brendan Muna 47.
On North East Guadalcanal Sikua polled 2,190 votes ahead of his second runner up Desmond Nimepo Norua with 772 votes, and Jaimie Lency Vokia with 572 votes.
Henry Saea 517 votes, Andrew Nanau 315, Stephen Paeni 109, Timothy John Poe 75 votes, Ben Oro 51 votes and Alfred Menengelea Lovanitilia 49 votes.
East Guadalcanal constituency, Tovosia scored a landslide, polling 3,377, well ahead of Benedict Tova’s 1,058.
George Tausiria polled 522 votes, Sampson Tahuniara 340 votes, Jack Koti 278 votes, and Enif Petsakibo 27 votes.
