The coach of SOSA the newly crowned Honiara Netball Association (HNA) Netball League champions, Shalom Akao says she was impressed with her team’s performance.
Ms Akao said it was through sheer hard work that brought them victory in this year’s HNA league champions.
SOSA netball club has again proved their dominance in the Honiara netball family with a convincing win in the grand final last Saturday.
“All the hard work and commitment has paid off.
“It was a team effort and I’m very proud of the girls for displaying their very best on Saturday.
“Thanks to the supporters and fans that came out in numbers. The team was very appreciative of the support,” she said.
It was a tough battle as the two teams fought for supremacy with both sides answering each call for goal throughout the entire game.
But the former Selwyn College students proved too strong for their opponents, making a consistent run throughout the match to finish top of Honiara’s top netball league.
Equipped with some of the best netballers in the country, SOSA maintained a steady pace which led them to book them the top spot of this year’s biggest netball league.
Meanwhile SOSA’s second team SOSA 2 could not do the same in the A division final after they lost 34-24 to Kakamora, division B saw MOST edge FAMBS 19-17, while premier reserves Bokolo Hornets thrashed Police 50-33.
In the high school division semi-finals, Selwyn 1 beat Tenaru 1 23-19, while St. Nicolas edged Selwyn 2 17-15.
