CENTRAL Shields are prepared to put in all efforts for a win against Western Turtles in the first semi- finals of the 2017 Our Telekom Solomon Cup tournament.
This match will kick off at 1:30pm at the Lawson Tama today.
Shields had to make a final come back in their group battle after their biggest defeat 7-0 to Lauru.
They defeated one of the competition’s favourites, Temotu Arrows 2-0 on Sunday to secure their place for the semi finals.
Shields head coach, Tome Kiki told the media his side is prepared for Turtles even though it will be a tough encounter.
He said they will treat each match as the final.
“Western Turtles is a good side, they have proved that by making it into the semi-finals.
“We will treat this match as the final.
“The boys are ready for this match and are prepared to give in everything to get a win today,” Kiki said.
Central Shields has learnt a lot from their group matches like to pick up fast during the match, playing according to the game plan and utilizing their scoring chances.
They started the competition with a win against hosts Honiara followed by Guadalcanal respectively but their undefeated run came to a halt when they were defeated 7-0 to Lauru.
They picked up in their final group match against Temotu Arrows with a 2-0 thus gave them the chance to go through for the semi finals.
Shields will be banking on striker, Kennedy Watemae for goals today and team Captain, Oscar Sara who will be controlling from the midfield.
