THE brutal inhumane killing of a 21-year old from Marovo Lagoon, Western Province has shocked communities across Marovo in the Western province this week.
No suspect was apprehended over the incident and an investigation into the shocking discovery of a beheaded female body is now underway.
A police media statement said the girl went missing three weeks ago at Ambu village in Marovo and was finally found early this week on Monday.
After receiving reports, Gizo Police Officers travelled on Wednesday morning to the village to investigate the death.
According to initial reports received by Police in Seghe from some villagers, the girl was beheaded, with her head discovered lying near a garden.
Reports said after a search was conducted and a corpse was located a few meters from where the head was located.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu in a report said that the suspects are yet to be identified.
“Police investigation is now underway.”
He expressed condolences to the family of the deceased for the loss.
