A GOOD number of shops in Honiara reportedly run out of Christmas items as shoppers went on shopping sprees.
For the past few days’ people have been flooding the shops in town, looking for Christmas wear, items and gifts for their loved ones to celebrate the festive season with.
Most shops at Point Cruz and also in Chinatown have reportedly run out of Christmas items and have had to re-order overseas.
“This is the second time in a month that we have had to re-order Christmas items just to meet the demands of people in Honiara,” one shop owner said.
“We understand that not only the people in Honiara are the ones demanding but mostly those preparing to go home for holidays.
“We have already run out of items such as Christmas hats, lights and even shirts and other wears,” he said.
“It is good seeing people come in buying Christmas gifts without any hustle or complaints.
“The only concern is that most of the Christmas goodies have run out,” another group shop owners at China town spoken to, said.
With Christmas just a day away, the shopping spree has reached it climax.
