The Solomon Islands National Women’s football team is currently under intensive preparations ahead of the PacificAusSport four nations tournament.
The tournament is set to take place in Canberra, Australia from 19thto 25th February.
The national women team joins Vanuatu national women’s team, Thailand U20 and the hosts Australia U20.
Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) confirmed the squad has been in full preparation since early January this year under the guidance of former national player, Batram Suri.
Coach Suri has already finalised his 28 women’s players for the tournament.
They are: Salome Masi, Alisha Donga, Almah Gogoni, Claudia Votu, Corrina Sangagole Rotoava, Edith Nari, Kalinsa Hailifu Fiua, Ileen Pegi, Ivy Sade, Jemina David, Joan Hangigaro, Lisa Solo, Lorina Solosaia, Margareth Kofela, Mesalyn Saepio, Sandy Tahiri, Sharoly Saeni, Rawina Rotoava, Naelyn Metake, Eileen Lovelyn, Veronica Tolivaka and Donna Kairi.
According to the schedule, Solomon Islands play its opening match against Thailand U20 on Wednesday 19th at the Viking Park.
This will follow by host Australia U20 on Saturday 22nd also at the Viking Park.
The third and the final match is against Vanuatu on Tuesday 25th at the Deakin Stadium.
The women’s team is expected to leave the country this weekend for the tournament.
