OFFICIALs from the government of Solomon Islands (SI) and New Zealand (NZ) yesterday held their annual development consultation at the Heritage Park Hotel in Honiara.
The consultation was to provide opportunity for officials from both Solomon Islands government and New Zealand to discuss bilateral and strategic policy issues regarding the current and future directions of the Solomon Islands-New Zealand joint commitment for development.
The country’s delegation was led by the Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Ministry of Development Planning and Aid Coordination Shadrach Fanega, with representatives from other Ministries such as Education, Fisheries, Finance, Infrastructure Development, Aviation and Commerce.
The NZ delegation was led by Acting Head of the New Zealand Aid program Jonathan Kings, including the NZ High Commissioner to Solomon Islands Marion Crawshaw.
The half day consultation started off at 8: 30am and concluded around 1pm with a lunch followed by question & answer session in the last segment of the program.
