SOLOMON Islands National Football team are set to take on Papua New Guinea (PNG) next Thursday for their second group A match in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania qualifiers.
Solomon Islands will play PNG for their second group A match following their first defeat to Fiji 1-0 last month.
This leaves Solomon Islands with 2 group matches to play in group A – the match with PNG next Thursday 14 November and a match against the 17th Pacific Games champions New Caledonia on Saturday November 17.
Both matches will be played in Port Moresby, PNG.
After their first group A match against Fiji last month which resulted in a narrow defeat, Solomon Islands National Football Team have regrouped and are undergoing intense training ahead of their two upcoming matches.
With the Solomon Islands National Football Team training squad undergoing training, few new faces have been called to join the training squad as the Head Coach works on strengthening the men in yellow for their two final group matches against PNG and a New Caledonia respectively.
This week is the final training week for the national side before leaving for PNG.
The final squad list will be released this week or early next week before they depart for their FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania qualifier mission.
