Solomon Islands is being represented at a two day recognized Seasonal Employer (RSE) Panel Physician Forum currently underway in Nadi Fiji.
Three doctors from the Family Medical Centre and the Honiara Private Medical Centre and two officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MFAET) are attending the Forum.
With the theme “Healthy Workers, Healthy RSE,” the Physician Forum is held for Heads of Labour Mobility Units, Doctors and medical workers around the Pacific who are involved in the New Zealand RSE program.
The forum includes panel discussions on the health screening for the RSE scheme and labour mobility schemes in the Pacific, e-Medical process and similarities and differences in the New Zealand and Australia’s health screening processes.
The forum was officially opened by the Fiji Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Hon. Semi Koroilavesau who in his opening speech spoke of the importance of the RSE scheme to the Pacific Island Countries.
He said the forum is essential as this is one of the avenues that will help to improve the RSE program.
This forum is an opportunity for the Pacific Panel Physicians, Radiologists, Clinic Administrators and Pacific RSE and labour mobility representatives to come together to discuss, develop and agree on a collaborative approach that is conducive to RSE and labour mobility moving forward.
This Forum is organised by the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment in collaboration with the Fiji Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations.
