As of the 29th January 2017, Solomon Islands citizen____s wishing to travel to Israel can now do so under a Visa Exemption Agreement signed between Israel and Solomon Islands in 2012.
The Visa Exemption agreement was signed between the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Home Affairs Manasseh Maelanga and Israel____s Ambassador Michael Ronen in Jerusalem, Israel.
The Visa Exemption Agreement allows Solomon Islands citizen____s to receive Visa on arrival in Israel up to three (3) months.
“It has taken five (5) years to get this agreement through and I am happy to say that at last Solomon Islanders wishing to make pilgrimage or business visit to the Holly and may do so now without the trouble of sending Visa applications to the Israeli Embassy in Canberra, Australia or at its Embassy in Singapore,” said Israel Consul in SI Leliana Firisua.
He also added, an Israel team will be here in the country beginning 30th July 2017. This mission is to assist MSME Stakeholders throughout the country in their effort to implement effectively and efficiently the MSME services through their various organizations.
“This will be in line with DCCG____s Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (SME____s) Policy & Strategy.
Small Business Development Centres (SBDC____s) or MATI as it is called in Israel is a network of specialized centers created for serving small businesses.
“It is through this model and mode of MATI services that this sector in Solomon Islands want to adopt. MATI has been a success for Israel in its re -absorption of millions of Jews world wide each year to the country under the Aliyah policy – returning of Jews to their homeland.
“The up coming mission to Solomon Islands will assist the small business sector and will end 11th August 2017.”
