SOLOMON Islands Association of Vocational Rural Training Centre (SIAVRTC) has acknowledged the Solomon Islands government partnership with the Japanese governments which has transpired in development assistance programs for rural training centres.
The Japanese government over the years since establishment worked in partnership with the Solomon Islands government continued to provide assistance to schools and communities and also develop human resources through the provision of scholarships.
Earlier this year, the Japan Embassy in Honiara handed over and opened various development projects in Malaita province that were funded by the Japanese government.
Some of successful projects included Radesifoliamae Clinic and Staff House project, Adakoa Rural Training Centre Classroom Project, Airahu Rural Training Centre Classroom Project and the APSD Staff House and Ablution Block project.
Speaking at the handing over of new Japanese funded staff house and ablution block for APSD RTC on Thursday this week, the Treasurer and representative of SIAVRTC described Japan as a true friend to the Solomon Islands government and people.
“Since coming into contact with the Japanese Grass Root Funding Assistance 14 years ago, SIAVRTC family members have been blessed with infrastructure assistance from Japan,” he said.
