The Makira Ulawa men’s football team is not disqualified according to the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF).
Rumours said Makira Ulawa team will be disqualified for fielding Nicholas Muri who was claimed to be a Telekom S-league registered player for the 2015 TSL season.
Muri played in two of Makira’s opening matches of which they won both which prompted complaints from other provincial teams.
Many have flooded the social media Facebook page making speculations saying Makira Ulawa team has been disqualified.
But reports from SIFF yesterday said the matter is before the SIFF Disciplinary Committee and made clarification that the team is not disqualified.
“The matter is before the SIFF Disciplinary Committee.
“Makira is not disqualified.
“This case concerns a player not the team,” they said.
It is anticipated that any decision made by the SIFF Disciplinary Committee will see Makira Ulawa continuing without Muri for the remaining games.
Makira will take on Renbel at 2pm today at the Lawson Tama Stadium.
