EIGHT approved projects for 2022/2023 financial year for Malaita Province under Provincial Capacity Development Fund have been removed.
Malaita Provincial Government Finance Minister, Randol Sifoni, informed the Malaita Provincial Assembly of the removal of the eight projects this week.
Mr Sifoni said the reason for the removal of the eight project was the Malaita Provincial Government’s (MPG’s) PCDF disqualification.
To avoid repeating the same mistake, the Minister of Finance said the current MNGFR is looking forward to pass all minimum conditions in the next PCDF assessment this month.
“I also want to affirm to my honourable colleagues that 8 approved projects for 2022-23 financial year have been removed due to the recent MPG’s PCDF disqualification; in particular, Malu’u Admin Office Upgrade, Atori Admin Office upgrade, Aligegeo School Quarantine Support, Afio Substation Market, Maoa CHS Classroom, Nafinua Science Lab (Ward 15), Taelanasato RHC and Fouia Fisheries Centre (Ward 13).”
“Funding is insufficient to construct all (these) intended projects.”
“The province also looks forward to another round of assessment in March 2023 and hopefully MPG passes all the minimum conditions and continue to implement these projects in 2023-24 fiscal year.”
