The gospel singer who stood trial for allegedly having sex on four occasions with a 14-year-old girl has been set free yesterday, in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court.
This was after the court found him not guilty and had him acquitted of all the charges against him.
The young man whose name was withheld to protect the alleged victim’s name has stood trial for four counts of defilement that allegedly occurred in 2010 and 2011.
Principal Magistrate Jim Seuika in his judgment yesterday said he was
not satisfied that the complainant told the truth.
He said the prosecution had failed to prove the charges of the defilement.
Henry Kausimae of Public Solicitor’s Office represented the young man.
