After a superb journey with the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) team and serving the country’s athletes and coaches, Australian Volunteers Program representatives Shaun Nemorin, Bianca Scurry, Sam Carr, Johnny Mulherin and John Tan got a farewell bid.
A statement from SINIS said, the services provided by these volunteers through the past months has been exceptional, leading Solomon Islands to create history by bagging 80 medals, more than the country has ever achieved through past XVII Pacific Games.
SINIS thanked Australia through the Australian Volunteers Program for the trust in its mission, vision and programs, resulting to receiving such support.
With Shaun Nemorin as the Wellbeing Lifestyle Performance (WLP) Department Mentor, Bianca Scurry as the Taekwondo Mentor under Portfolio One (Combat and Weight) sports, Sam Carr as the Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Coach under Portfolio Three ((Racquet, Aquatic, Target and Individual sports), Johnny Mulherin in the Sports Medicine and Rehab team and John Tan as an Education Training Officer under SINIS Sport Education Department.
“They will surely return to Australia with rich experiences and memories of the ‘Hapi Isles’.
The AVI Volunteers wish the SINIS Staff, athletes, coaches and friends created along the journey all the best in future endeavours, and hope to see each other again when paths cross.
