The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) is hosting its 2024 annual graduation ceremony this Thursday.
Around 1000 students from various faculties will receive their certificates, Diplomas and Degrees at the ceremony set to take place at Maranatha Hall, East Honiara.
His Excellency, Reverand David Tiva Kapu will be the guest of honor at the event.
Hundreds of parents, friends, families and guests will grace the occasion.
This year’s graduation ceremony is particularly a special one as SINU will award its first ever Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, a historic milestone that marks a new chapter in the university’s evolution.
SINU Vice Chancellor Dr. Transform Aqorau expressed his profound pride and deep sense of fulfillment in this remarkable achievement in a press release statement issued in the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) facebook page stating;
“I am both pleased and humbled to witness this historic moment for our university. The 2024 Graduation Ceremony is a landmark event, not only because we are celebrating the academic success of around 1000 students who have worked diligently to reach this point but also because we are making history by awarding our first ever PhD degree.
“This milestone is far more than just a symbolic achievement; it is a powerful testament to the hard work, perseverance and dedication of our students, faculty, and staff.
“Each of them has contributed to this success, and together, we have demonstrated what is possible when a community of scholars is driven by shared vision of excellence.”
The list of batches of students graduating are being published on the SINU official facebook page.
