A TEN member team from the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) left the country over the weekend for a two week training program at Pukyong National University (PKNU).
The staff left the country Saturday.
A statement from the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) office in Honiara said that this training will help the recipients so much.
“This is to equip them for the better management of the upcoming department of fisheries science study at the university,” the statement added.
It said that the participants are from various departments at SINU which includes senior lecturers, admin officers, a lab technician, a librarian, an accountant and a student officer.
Training participants upon return would be able to:
1.Provide methods of administrative planning and management of each laboratory of Department of Fisheries Science at SINU;
2.Train the procedure of managing the bachelor degree students;
3.Understand the scholarship International cooperation, administrative procedures PKNU;
4.Learn about safety management of facilities used in Department of Fisheries Science at SINU such as labs and research centers.
As part of KOICA’s Fisheries Project, KOICA is providing such a training course which will give SINU officials or staff opportunities to acquire knowledge and experience required for the successful administrative management of SINU.
KOICA’s Country director wishes the staff all the best in their short term training and hopes they will get as much experience from Korea to improve their capability and also be able to contribute the better management of SINU in general.
