BETWEEN 50 to 60 students at the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) claimed their names were excluded from the graduation list scheduled for this November graduation.
A parent who informed this paper yesterday said these students have completed their studies in June, however their names were not in the graduation list for 2021.
“We would like to know why they are not included the graduation list, because these students have already cleared their tuition fee and meet other necessities required by the university,” he said.
When this paper contacted the SINU Senior Marketing, Promotions Officer and Public Relations Officer, Estee Lonamei he confirmed that the students who completed their studies last semester (June 2021) are in the graduation list scheduled for November 11, 2021.
However, he said if those concerned students didn’t see their names in the list its important to check with their respective faculties and talk to their coordinators.
“I have been announcing this in our SIBC program over the past three months, for them to go to their respective faculties and talk to their coordinators. Faculties will then confirmed it to the SAS office if he/she should be included in the graduation list.
“If they don’t go to their faculties to sort out the issue, then they have to wait for next year’s graduation ceremony,” he said.
However, he said if those students are without any outstanding fees, SAS office will issue a “Confirmation Letter” indicating the completion of their studies at SINU, and they can use the confirmation letter to apply for jobs.
