THE Solomon Islands national University (SINU) will be staging a ground breaking ceremony for the new two story fisheries complex at Ranadi, east Honiara tomorrow.
Pro-Vice chancellor Academic professor Basil Marasinghe confirmed this to the Solomon Star on Wednesday.
He said, that work on the two story building for the department of fisheries will commence in few weeks time after this ground breaking ceremony.
“The fisheries program which is offered at certificate, Diploma and Bachelor’s degree is being developed by Professor San Go Lee and Prof. Kyoung Mi Kang of Pukyong University in South Korea, therefore it is important to move with the plan.”
Professor Marasinghe said that ceremony tomorrow will be attended by Minister for Fisheries including Minister of education and human resources development.
The programme will start on 10am at the Ranadi marine studies sea side area.
Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is funding the project.
Hatanga Company limited will be constructing the two story building.
