Solomon Islands National University (SINU) plans to introduce two additional degree courses next year.
Vice chancellor Dr Glyn Galo revealed this Friday, during SINU’s second graduation ceremony that saw more than 1,000 students graduating.
Galo said they intend to introduce degrees in Business Studies and Information Technology.
Since its establishment in 2013, the only degree course at SINU was that in Nursing.
“For the first two years we were running on the former SICHE system but hopefully things will change as we are moving with our plans to upgrade the university,” Galo added.
He said SINU had signed agreements with other universities in the region to help the local institution improve its courses.
Galo said these plans will ensure Solomon Islanders can do their degree studies here.
