Dear Editor – In the year 2000 16 former employees of Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) were given the green light to call it a day after they had reached the ceiling. A term SIPA use for retirement.
Our group was the first retirees SIPA had retired under this policy and practice, fair and square and so off we go, oli fera, go home.
Mr Chairman or CEO for that matter, I wonder if that policy and practice is still alive and well or is it dead and gone.
Sir, according to what I know and have, 16 current workers have now climbed over the ceiling with the longest worker with 38 years of service still employed. Wanem man creep moa fo climb ovam ceiling.
Wake up management, check you records and do the right thing or no gud you too in the net.
I can furnish you with the list should the management or the guy responsible have lost their copies.
Information has it the year of service have been blessed with another 5 years to put the ceiling at 55 years old in age. Pass and gazetted too?
Practice makes perfect.
