Dear Editor – First, I wish to congratulate the SISE English Examiner and his/her moderator for a job professionally done.
On the same note, credit to the General Paper Examiner and his/her moderator for a job well done.
Second, May I highly condemn the poor state of the Mathematics paper for its irrelevance, biasness and high-pitch level oriented.
This paper was set for average form three students and not for standard six pupils.
The examiner need to be investigated for being paid for a job well below bar.
Indeed students went home after the exam weak, distracted and trouble-minded.
A good number of students, who will fail the General paper, are a result of the psychological mess this ignorant examiner had caused. He or she should be held responsible.
Thirdly, NESU responsible officers need to be advised not to let this year’s mathematics examiner engaged in similar work in future.
He/she is not an examiner nor does a reliable math teacher and you can tell by the way the exam was set. What a shameful and disgusting performance by the examiner?
Finally, as a former Examiner and moderator of our national Forms three and five mathematics, I will compile a report on the question types, difficulty levels, content and the nature and the negative impact the exam had on the students overall performance and sent it to NESU and MEHRD for further investigation into how it was set and who was responsible.
Lastly but not the least, I wish to disassociate all the math teachers throughout the country from the mess this so-called mathematics Examiner had demonstrated and caused to the student’ future education this year.
With my report as a concerned parent, I will ensure that half of the questions will be omitted out during marking. So don’t worry my good students and parents. I will stand by your side.
George Sui
