Rodrick Bay Hideaway has thanked Solomon Island Visitors Bureau (SIVB) for its support towards the preparation of the up-coming yacht festival.
To be hosted by Rodrick Bay Hideaway, it would run from 27th -30th of June.
SIVB upon request from Rodrick Bay Hideaway donated $10,000 towards preparation of the event.
Further funding support will be given once the event is ready to kick off.
Rodrick Bay Hideaway Managing Director John Ruka after receiving the cheque from SIVB told the Solomon Star that the money would go towards preparation of the yacht festival.
“We would host a yacht festival and this money donated by SIVB upon our request would support our preparation.
“Since the event is coming closer and money is now with us we would utilise this money to prepare the hosting venue for the event,” he said.
A visit by the Solomon Star last week to Rodrick Hideaway saw preparation making progress with stalls, huts and accommodation being erected.
Cleaning of beaches where yachts people will do their activities was also made.
Invitation letters have been distributed but it does not stop anyone to go attend, he said.
“Everyone are welcome during the event.”
Meanwhile Mr Ruka thanked SIVB for the kind donation and look forward for more support in the future.
