Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau (SIVB) CEO, Josefa ‘Jo’ Tuamoto has ensured the watching world is being kept fully up to date with all developments taking place in the Solomon Islands as the nation begins the arduous task of cleaning up after last week’s tumultuous events.
In a secondary statement issued on Wednesday, Mr Tuamoto has urged international tourists and tourism operators to show their support for the Solomon Islands by visiting the destination and spending those all important tourist dollars which ultimately go towards helping everyone in the nation.
Mr Tuamoto reiterated his comments regarding the passion of the Solomon Islanders.
“As a nation they have united to help each other and how, as a unified people, they have taken to the task of beginning the big clean-up and bring things back to a state of normalcy as quickly as possible,” he said.
“The people of the Solomon Islands are to be applauded for their demonstration of this great strength, for the action they have taken towards putting their lives, and for that matter, their livelihoods, back on track.
“This is a testament to their resilience in the face of great adversity.
“But we all know we have a big job ahead of us and there is a need to stay focused on the job in hand – but lets all remember, it is a job with a definite end in sight.”
