The proposed Solomon Islands Woman In Business Association (SIWIBA) 10th anniversary celebration scheduled for this week has postponed due to continuous heavy rainfall.
SIWIBA president Ms Dalcy Tekulu confirmed that their planned celebration for SIWIBA 10th birthday has been moved to the second week of February next month.
She said, that this is very disappointing indeed for our women who had prepared well for the program but regret to learn that the weather is just so unfriendly for their planned activities.
“We were looking forward to launch our website today (yesterday) and showcase a lot of our stuff but unfortunately the weather does not allowed us to continue with our program,” Ms Tekulu said.
She was unable to confirm the new date because they have to sit down and decide.
“But I can confirm that it will occur on the second week of February next month, the pay day for the public servants as well,” she said.
“We normally host our program on days coincide with the public service pay day because that is the only time our market get fast to sell as we experienced in our previous Mere market,” she said.
“We just like to apologise to our hard working women who have prepared well for the program and assure them that we will still host this 10th anniversary on the second week of February, on a day that has fine and serene weather to accommodate our activities,” she said.
