Dear Editor – It is a great concern to see the government just giving away to SIWIBA a large amount of public funds to host its awards night.
This is just purely waste of tax payers’ money which should have been wisely used to support women venturing into real business activities.
I hope there is existence of the accountability and transparency of SIWIBA’s accounts and financing, which included funds from memberships fees, donors and other institutions.
Moreover, I presume the government and OAG must have demanded a public and independent audit on SIWIBA’s accounts on a yearly basis to ensure the existence of public accountability and transparency of the use of public funds.
Because at the end of the day, someone must be accountable and responsible for SIWIBA’s administration and financial management.
