Founder of Women International, Marga Fripp conducted an inspiring workshop on leadership for members of the Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) at the YWCA conference room yesterday.
Her visit to Honiara inspired many women who attended her sessions that started over the weekend and SIWIBA was privileged to have Ms. Fripp to talk to some successful business members of the Association.
During the workshop, SIWIBA members shared their experience of leadership as business owners as well as leadership figures at home and communities.
As voiced by many who attended the workshop, being a female leader is not an easy task but a challenging one especially when culture and the modern society influenced the aspect of female leaders in the Solomon Islands.
Among SIWIBA members who attended the workshops was upcoming consultant entrepreneur, Ms. Celia Kopana who said, the sessions has added value to my current consultancy business.
“From a business perspective, the lessons learnt has refreshed me which adds value to my current consultancy business and has built my confidence to pursue more vigorously in my venture.”
Ms. Kopana said, the topics delivered are suitable for businesswomen at all level.
She encouraged others who have been part of the workshop to apply and put into practice what they have learnt.
Ms. Kopana acknowledged SIWIBA for recommending her and others to attend the workshops.
In her remarks at the end of the session, the SIWIBA President, Dalcy Tekulu, acknowledged Ms. Fripp for recognizing SIWIBA women to be part of her work here.
Mrs Tekulu described the session as “an outstanding workshop” in comparison to other workshops that SIWIBA have attended.
Ms. Fripp who is from the United States was accompanied by Agatha Pio of PNG, a young lady who coordinated her work here in Honiara.
SIWIBA has acknowledged members who attended the workshop and for their recognition of the importance of such information to further progress them as businesswomen in the country.
