The Solomon Islands Women in Business Association (SIWIBA) members have undertaken a three-day Innovative Entrepreneurship for Women in Business in Honiara.
The three days training started on Tuesday at the SIWIBA Business Development Centre and concluded yesterday with a formal presentation of certificates to participants.
Facilitators are from Israel, Ms. Reem Shachar who is the Deputy Director, MASHAUMCTC International Training Centre, Israel and Mr. Zahaui Max who is a Financial Consultant, SME Development Expert, Israel.
This is the second mission in the framework of the long term project on “Capacity Building for Small and Medium Enterprise” in Solomon Islands, aiming at strengthening skills, competencies and abilities of women, men and youth in the field of MSME Development.
The training with SIWIBA aims at enhancing skills and knowledge on women’s economic empowerment through experienced facilitators in innovation and business.
Speaking to SIWIBA, Ms. Shachar said that as part of the training, participants worked in groups to design an innovative service or product that is both profitable and has a positive impact on social networking.
She added that they are very excited to be working with women leaders and small business owners of Solomon Islands.
The training was made possible through partnership with the Israel Consulate in Solomon Islands, Leliana Firisua and funded by SIWIBA through its sustainability fund.
