TULAGI police have arrested six men last week in connection to a break- in at Siota Provincial Secondary School, Central Province last Friday.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Fred Satu alleged that a total of 15 youths from Belaga village involved in the incident.
They were suspected of breaking in the school compound and entered students’ dormitories on Monday night.
Mr Satu said upon receiving reports from the school, police dispatched two officers to investigate the incident.
‘The team arrested six of the suspects on Tuesday who were taken to Honiara on Wednesday to face court.
Mr Satu appealed on outsiders to respect the school properties, teachers and students.
“Schools are important places where students must be allowed to learn without fear of being burgled.
He said police will not tolerate such cases therefore appealed to nearby residents to assist the school instead of being seen as enemies.
Meanwhile Mr Satu urged church leaders and elders of the province to work closely with police in conducting awareness programs on law and order in communities.
