Vulolo Football Association (VFA) in Central Guadalcanal will kick off their league tomorrow morning at Tetupa playing ground.
Chairman of the organising committee Robert Bela confirmed this to Star Sports in an interview yesterday.
“The official opening program will kick off with a colourful parade to be followed by speeches from several invited guests,’’ he said.
He said the league was co-sponsored by MPA for Vulolo Ward Jacob Manengelea and MP for Central Guadalcanal Hon Peter Shanel.
“The main aim of the league is to engage our youths in football activities.”
Bela added 14 teams from 6 clubs within Vulolo ward are set to battle for the competition in two pools.
The clubs are; Genatasi, Strive Warriors, Tebisa, Laona, Vokos and Bavata club.
He said straight after the official launching ceremony first match should kick off.
Strive Warriors A will take on Vekos A in the first match tomorrow for pool 1 to be followed by Strive Warriors B up against Tebisa B for pool 2.
The third match for tomorrow will feature Vekos C taking on Bavata A for Pool 1 while Basate C will go head to head with Bavato B for for Pool 2.
The final match of the day for pool 1 will see Laona A taking Tabisa A while Laona B is set to battle with Tebisa B as the final match of the day.
Genatasi A and B are on bye on round 1 matches.
Bela stressed matches will continues on Saturday with more exciting games.
Meanwhile he urges all football fans and supporters in and around central Guadalcanal to come out in numbers to witness the official kick off of the league tomorrow.
