THE Government yesterday organised a forum to enhance performance of State Owned Enterprise (SOE) in the country.
It was held at the Heritage Park Hotel.
The forum was an educational one filled with constructive ideas and intriguing facts about successful operations of SOE in developing countries.
A huge turnout of SOE top officials and government reps from various ministries took time to learn from guest speakers from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and a former New Zealand Minister for SOE Richard Prebble.
The forum was mediated by a team from Ministry of Finance & Treasury (MoFT) led by Under-Secretary Mckinnie Dentana.
Participants were satisfied with the forum as new ideas learned after much consultations through ADB report was convincing enough to learn from previous under-performance by SOEs, where shortfalls were address as the right step to leap further.
Guest speakers in the forum are highly experienced expatriates with great insights in creating ways to develop and successfully govern SOEs.
