SOLOMON Airlines will be moving into the new Domestic Terminal at the old International Terminal soon.
This has been confirmed to local media by CEO, Gus Kraus, in a briefing session to update the nation about what Solomon Airlines is doing.
This briefing was held at the Boardroom Solomon Airlines Head Office at the Honiara International Airport Building in Honiara.
“Recently we moved from the old terminal to the new international terminal that has been completed.
“There is some work to be done at the new terminal for the travelling public to be aware of on how the airport terminal operates,” he said.
The initial planes date to move to the new terminal was Monday this week. However, the relocation programme was delayed for another week as there was a lot of renovation work yet to be done at the new domestic terminal.
“Some of those things are the overhead ceiling, toilets and bathroom which are yet to be redone and some other renovations.
“From the Airlines point of view, all the IT team are getting ready to attend to all the IT needs in starting up the terminal for domestic check-ins.
“This system must be operational to the standard for the check in of the luggage,” he said.
