NATIONAL CARRIER Solomon Airlines will be relaunching its Honiara-Sydney route starting on Tuesday 26th of this month.
This came after the Solomon Airlines announced the temporary suspension of its Sydney-Honiara service from 22 February – 25 April 2016 while the carrier’s flagship Airbus A-320 undergoes maintenance in Singapore.
Reports reaching the Solomon Star confirmed that, Solomon Airlines’ Sydney to Honiara direct flights will recommence on 26 April 2016.
As part of the relaunching, Solomon Airlines is also giving out special air fares to fly Sydney/Honiara from AUD$699 return, from 26 Apr 2016 – 31 Dec 2016, with terms and conditions apply.
It was understood that, the Sydney-Honiara route was launched last year.
The initiative comes as part of the stronger and close cooperation between Solomon Airlines, Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau (SIVB), and the tourism ministry.
These three bodies have been working closely together on various initiatives aimed at developing the tourism industry and bringing in more overseas tourists into the country.
