SOLOMON Islands biggest sporting event, the Solomon Games, will start next week.
Solomon Games Committee (SGC) confirmed that the Games will officially start on Monday 27th March with a march parade from Unity Square at the Commonwealth Street to Lawson Tama Stadium.
Athletes will assemble at Unity Square from 6am to 7am for the parade.
According to SGC, nine sports will be participating in the Solomon Games.
Guest of Honour at the official opening ceremony will be our Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare who will officially cut the ribbon to open the Games.
A drama to be performed by Dream Cast will follow the speeches.
Currently Honiara City is now packed with hundreds of athletes and supporters who have travelled from around the provinces to participate and be part of the country’s biggest Games.
SGC said it is excited to host the event which will showcase the sporting talents of Solomon Islands athletes.
