SOLOMON Games 2023 is not only a set of games and contests but also a celebration of our provinces’ unique culture and traditions.
These were the words of the games Local Organising Committee chairman Karl Kuper at the official opening of Solomon Games 2023 at Lawson Tama stadium this morning.
Mr Kuper said this event is the testament to the power of sports which unite everyone from all walks of life under the banner of athleticism and fair play.
“Solomon Games signifies more than just a set of games and contest.
“They are celebrating our provinces’ unique culture and traditions.
“I encourage every athlete, every coach and every spectator to take this chance to develop new friendships, learn from each other and most importantly, enjoy the games,” the chairman said as he welcomes all heads of delegations, officials and athletes.
He said the official opening marks the beginning of a journey of sportsmanship and spirit of competition to expose the raw talents of athletes from the provinces and also an avenue to select athletes from around the provinces to represent our country in the 2023 Pacific Games.
“Remember you are the ambassadors of your own provinces and communities.
