SOLOMON Post, a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE), is leading the way in gender diversity in the country by employing a significant number of women in its workforce.
At the opening of Solomon Post’s newly built, multi-million-dollar office in the Malaita Provincial Capital Auki on Friday, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alfred Ghemu shared insights into the organisation’s governance and workforce.
Ghemu spoke of the strong leadership of the Solomon Post Board of Directors chaired by James Apaniai and a dedicated management team, which includes Ghemu and other key members.
“The organisation is proud of its diverse workforce, which consists of 74 staff members, with 53 per-cent of employees being women,” Mr Ghemu said.
Solomon Post remains committed to providing reliable and accessible postal services, while fostering an inclusive and empowering work environment for all employees.
In addition to its diverse staff, Solomon Post operates provincial offices in Buala, Tulagi, Kirakira, Lata, Munda, Gizo, Taro and Panatina (Honiara), apart from Auki.
This extensive network ensures that reliable postal services are accessible to even the most remote areas of the Solomon Islands.
“This nationwide presence allows us to reach people across the islands and provide consistent, dependable postal services,” Mr Ghemu added.
