SOLOMON Power has opened its new office in Tulagi, Central Province on Friday as it continues to extends its operation nation-wide.
Central Provincial Premier Stanley Manetiva in honouring the opening of the new classic Solomon Power office building in Tulagi said such development is much needed as there are expansion of settlement on the island.
“We continue to see the increase in population and movement from people particularly Honiara on business or leisure to the island over the years. There is evident expansion of settlement on the island and we anticipate more developmental activities to happen in the mid to longer term,” he said.
Premier Manetiva said this trend continues during the Covid-19 pandemic period.
“I wish to congratulate Solomon Power for this milestone achievement. To the Solomon Power staff here in Tulagi congratulations. Citizens you have a better and conducive space to do business or your inquiries.
“On behalf of the Central Provincial Government Executive, the Assembly and its Administration, I wish to convey our gratitude to Solomon Power for being a partner and a constant service provider.
“What I wish to bring to your attention is that these development initiatives are demanding and will continue to demand more energy or electricity use. We will continue to benefit from Solomon Power’s role in ensuring there are certified Grade A licensed electricians around, in ensuring that safety and quality service is guaranteed.
“If it means the direction Central Provincial Government and Solomon Power is to go into public private partnerships (PPP) on establishment of solar hybrid systems at any of our earmarked economic development centres we will liaise and dialogue further with Solomon Power management,” he said.
Manetiva said the new class office building is not only is a facelift for Tulagi, but however signifies Solomon Power seriousness and commitment to provide service or to expand its services there in the province, should it be Tulagi, Gella, Russell or Savo Islands.
He called on the people of Tulagi and Central Province to take pride, respect and care for the facility.
