Outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for North Guadalcanal Constituency says he is prepared to explain how he has spent funding received by the constituency in the past eight years.
Martin Sopage said this in response to a calls by Samuel Basoe, a Chief of Ghavugha community in the North Guadalcanal.
Chief Basoe last Friday challenged Mr Sopage to explain how he had spent some of the funds intended for the constituency.
Chief Basoe told FSII news that during the past eight years there was no tangible development in the entire constituency.
But Mr Sopage said all the allegations being laid against him in the article are misleading and incorrect.
“I have all the evidence of how I used the funding which I willing to explain to anyone who wants to know about how the funds are being spent.
“If anyone wants to know about the funding expenditure over these years visit my constituency office for clarification,” Mr Sopage said.
Mr Sopage who is confident regaining his parliament seat also clarified reports about the tourism fund for the War Memorial Park at Tetere beach.
“I would like to clearly explain here that NGC has funded Samuel Basoe war memorial park in 2013 of tourism funds under my authorisation to the ministry so he also benefits from the funds.
“Therefore I would like to remind chief Basoe to stop misleading the public with all his incorrect information.
“If he wants right information come to the constituency office so that we could provide him with all the information of how the all funds are being spent since I was elected as a MP. I’m happy to show him the documents and reports rather than bursting out in the media,” Mr Sopage said.
