Outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for North Guadalcanal Constituency says he won’t campaign in this year’s national general election.
Martin Sopage who is running as an independent candidate confirmed this to the Solomon Star yesterday.
“I would like to tell my good people in North Guadalcanal constituency and the nation that I will not campaign for power like what other candidates are doing.
“Because my people trusted me and have great confident in me so therefore I won’t conduct campaign in my constituency,” Mr Sopage said.
He thanked his people for their support and trust in him over the past term.
Mr Sopage also acknowledged the outgoing Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo for his leadership and assistance to his constituency.
Meanwhile Mr Sopage will launch his strategic plans for his constituency in his home village in Parisiri, North Guadalcanal this Sunday.
