CITY Clerk Rence Sore says he will dig deeper into the issues surrounding this week’s dismissal of the eight HCC cases before making a conclusion.
He made this comment on social media following a magistrate’s ruling that dismissed eight HCC matters cases on Thursday.
“This article caught me by surprise,” Sore said referring to the article about the court’s dismissal of those eight cases on Friday’s paper.
“I will dig deeper into issues surrounding the cases before I make my conclusions,” he added.
Sore said he is summoning relevant officials to provide him with the information.
“Sad that such events are not helpful to our endeavours to clean up the Honiara City Council.
“Let me assure the good people of Honiara that tough actions will be taken if so required,” he further added.
On Thursday, Magistrate Emily Zazariko Vagibule dismissed the eight HCC matters for the want of prosecution.
This was after the HCC prosecutor failed to turn up in court on Thursday.
The eight accused in this matters are under warrant of arrests (WOA) awaiting execution of the warrants by law enforcers.
Vagibule stressed that despite emphasising numerous times on how important it is for parties to respect the court’s timing, nothing seems to change.
Meanwhile, one of the HCC prosecutors when asked for a comment told this paper to contact him on Monday next week.
