South Road in Malaita is again restoring to its former state as road upgrade work continues in the aftermath of the previous bad weather seasons.
And the public are overwhelmed with the road maintenance work being carried out along the South Road in Malaita Province in the past weeks, reports reaching Solomon Star states.
South road, which connects Auki to Hauhui in West Are’are, was badly affected after the heavy down pour experienced last December and the beginning of this year in Malaita province.
The deteriorating condition of that road after the heavy down pours forced public vehicles to travel under dangerous conditions, which attracted lots of criticism from the traveling public.
However, road maintenance work carried out along the South road in the recent weeks has restored the conditions of the badly affected areas allowing traffic to flow unlike before.
The travelling public and vehicle owners’ have acknowledged the effort of the road workers for maintaining the South Road and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development for allocating contractors to fix the badly effected areas along the South Road.
In the meantime, road maintenance work is ongoing along the South Road.
