SOUTHSIDERS Football Club (FC) caused an upset to one of the heavy contenders of the Auki Capital League AG Fiu FC with a 5-1 victory.
The match started with AG Fiu FC looking to control the game only to find themselves behind in the scoreboard when Southsiders scored its first goal midway through the first half.
Southsiders FC extended their lead five minutes later with another strike to lead by 2-0, frustrating the AG Fiu FC who failed to find their rhythm.
AG Fiu FC hopes of coming back into the game restored as it pulled one goal back 10 minutes before half-time to make it 2-1.
However, Southsiders FC proved itself as the better team of the first half by extending its lead to a 3-1lead in the final minute of the first-half to take command of the scoreboard.
The two teams came back for the second half with AG Fiu FC looking to bounce back into the game.
An early goal from AG Fiu FC could have helped the situation; however, things were not going well for AG Fiu FC as Southsiders extended their lead two minutes into the second half to kill any chances of AG Fiu coming back into the game.
Southsiders FC put the game to bed midway through the second half from a penalty which then led to their fifth goal.
