MORE than 20 women from Reivotu group in Sahalu ward, North-West Guadalcanal have benefited from the South Pacific Banking development (SPBD) small business scheme.
The group told Solomon Star that the scheme has helped start small businesses at home that were really helpful to families.
“For many years, we have been dreaming of going into businesses but the only problem was no money to start with,” Aloisia Kapini said.
She added that early this year, she went and loaned $4,000 to start her small melon farming project.
“I utilised the money in farming and it had proved very effective,” she said.
She added that every day during market, she usually collected $500 to $1,000.
“This was a big earning for someone like me,” Mrs Kapini said.
She added that other women share the same success story like me and we are most grateful for the initiative by South Pacific Banking Development.
