THE Honiara Netball Association (HNA) has kicked off a League Competition in a bid to identify potential players for the national training squad.
Speaking to Star Sports over the weekend, Honiara Netball Association (HNA) representative Margaret Talasasa said those currently competing are representing the Top 10 teams from each of the HNA Four Divisions.
“This competition is in line with SINFED’s objective to identify potential players for the training squad,” Ms Talasasa said.
She said the final squad should be finalised in June next year.
However, she said not all Top 10 teams in the four divisions were able to participate.
She said only Division B have their Top 10 teams, Super and Division A and Division C were able to send only their Top 9 teams.
The teams playing in the round robin competition are drawn into two pools – Pool 1 and Pool 2.
Meanwhile, Ms Talasasa called on netball umpires to come forward and assist in the current competition.
“I urge teams with umpires to come forward and help out in the games,” she said.
The Special League Competition started on 27th August 2022.
