THE National men’s football squad will play their first friendly exhibition match against Solomon Cup All Stars as part of their preparation to take on New Zealand in the grand finals of the stage three of the World Cup Qualifiers.
According to reports from the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Technical Department, the friendly exhibition match is confirmed Tuesday next week at the Lawson Tama stadium.
“SIFF Technical department is organizing an Exhibition football match between National Football Team and Solomon Cup All Stars.
“This proposed game is scheduled for Tuesday July 18th at Lawson Tama.
“The objective of this match is to involve provincial football players to play against the current National Team.
The All Stars team consists of 24 players selected from 10 teams that took part in the current Solomon Cup competition.
Football fans and supporters are kindly asked to come out in numbers just like the attendance shown in Solomon Cup as entrance fees will be charged in aid of our national team’s trip to New Zealand
“Fees collected during this exhibition match is to support our National Football Team’s travel to New Zealand for World Qualifiers,’’ according to the statement.
Meanwhile All Stars will be guided by George Rausi as Team Manager.
