SOME 500 women from the South Seas Evangelical Church (SSEC) from 34 local churches in Honiara ended a day of sporting activities successfully during the weekend.
Held at the Telekom recreational Hall on Saturday, the idea was to bring women from different SSEC local churches together.
Joyce Tua association secretary for SSEC women said friendly sports competitions were organised.
“The games played were Soccer, Netball, volleyball and Tag of war.”
She said they are planning to make the event an annual one.
Celeshal Ramo, vice coordinator said the program helps the women both mental and physical fitness.
“These women have a lot to take care of both in their families and outside, thus such events help them release whatever stress they have.
Mrs Ramo urges other women groups to initiate such activities to help women.
