SAINT John Dala Catholic School, West Kwara’ae, Malaita Province, officially began its 2025 academic year with a special mass early this week.
The mass was attended by students and teachers from both the primary and secondary levels.
In an opening statement from the school read out at the mass, it warmly welcomed all students and staff for the new academic year.
“Welcome to the commencement of a new academic year. As we gather today for our first school Mass, we unite in faith and hope, celebrating the start of a journey filled with learning and personal growth. Let us take a moment to reflect on the many blessings that have brought us to this day,” the school said.
The school acknowledged its teachers for their unwavering commitment to educating and nurturing the minds and hearts of its students.
“Your guidance and support are essential in shaping the future leaders of our community.
“As you embark on this new academic year, may you find renewed strength and inspiration in your mission to educate and inspire.”
The school welcomed both new and continuing students.
“Welcome back to school! Whether you are returning to familiar faces or joining us for the first time, know that you are a valued member of our Saint John Dala family.
“Embrace this opportunity to learn, grow and explore, both academically and spiritually. Remember that each day offers a chance to discover new talents, build lasting friendships and deepen your relationship with God.”
The school urged everyone to continue praying for God’s blessings upon the institution, teachers, students and their families.
“As we celebrate this Mass, let us pray for God’s blessings upon our school, our teachers, students, and their families. May we be guided by the light of Christ in all our endeavors, and may we strive to create a community built on love, respect and compassion.
“Let us begin this new academic year with faith and determination, knowing that with God’s grace, we can achieve great things. May Saint John Dala Catholic School continue to be a beacon of knowledge, faith and service.”
